This page is a record of the changes made to the 2020-2021 Calendar after it was originally published.
There are three types of changes noted on this page:
- Items marked as ADDENDA were approved after the Calendar was published. Addenda listings will include the date the change was approved. This is the date the new regulation took effect, regardless of when it was added to the Calendar.
- Items marked as COVID-19 ADDENDA are changes made to the 2020-2021 Calendar in response to COVID-19 that impact a previously listed regulation. Other COVID-19 measures that don’t impact a previously listed regulation may not be listed in the Calendar. For up to date information regarding the U of A’s response to COVID-19 please see our COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) Information page.
- Unmarked items are errata, and include corrections to errors or omissions that were approved prior to the originally publication of the Calendar.

Jan. 19, 2022
On the Mining [Engineering] page, Year 2 Term 4 incorrectly listed an ITS Elective (3-0-0) requirement. This incorrect requirement was deleted.
May 7, 2021
Anne McIntosh was incorrectly listed on the Professor Emeriti page. This listing has been removed.
Feb. 10, 2021
Courses were incorrectly listed in the course requirements section of The Graduate Certificate in Sport and Recreation Management [Graduate] . Originally, all of the courses were listed with the KRLS designator. Through subsequent approved changes, the designator for these courses was changed to KSR. Course numbers remain the same.
Jan. 20, 2021
A 2nd correction was made to the Winter Term 2021 audit registration dates on both the Academic Schedule, Dates, and Deadlines and the Fall 2020/Winter 2021 Terms pages. The correct audit regsitration dates are January 25 - 29, 2021.
Jan. 14, 2021
On the Fees Payment Guide , the Graduate Instructional and Non-Instructional Fees were updated with the 2019/2020 information.

Year 1 requirements on the French version Baccalauréat bilingue en Administration des affaires page were corrected to match the corresponding English version Bilingual Bachelor of Commerce page. This correction includes:
- addition of MATHQ 113 as the equivalent of MATHQ 114
- removal of SCI 151

Two sections (a variable requirement and a notes section) were removed from Central/East European Studies Minor on the Minor in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies [Arts] page. [Approved Nov. 2019]. An archived copy of the original page can be reviewed here .

On Education Chart 3 Requirements for Major Teaching Subject in the Secondary After Degree Education Route the requirements for Career and Technology Studies: Computing Science (BIT) WITHOUT degree in Computing Sciences or Computer Engineering (★36) incorrectly stated that applicants “NOT presenting an approved Business Degree in Commerce or Management…”. This has been corrected to “NOT presenting a degree in Computing Sciences or Computer Engineering…”

COVID-19 ADDENDA/ERRATA. On the Academic Schedule, Dates, and Deadlines page, the new dates for Winter Term 2021 stated that the audit registrations were from Jan. 25 - 29. This has been corrected to Jan. 25 - 26.

The Science (Admission and Readmission Deadlines) page was corrected. The page originally stated that, for the BSc General program, previous students could apply for readmission in the Spring/Summer Term. This has been removed. There is no Spring/Summer Term readmission for the BSc General program (as approved by the GFC Academic Planning Committee on Oct. 15, 2015)

COVID-19 ADDENDA. Temporary changes were made to the MD Degree Course Structure, replacing the previous listed courses with a new omnibus schedule. COVID-19 ADDENDA. SAT/ACT Test-Optional Policy for applicants with American-Patterned Curriculum was added to General Admission Requirements . This is a temporary regulation change for the 2020-2021 Calendar and will be in effect for Spring 2021, Summer 2021, Fall 2021, and Winter 2022 admissions. [Approved on Oct. 15, 2020.]

ADDENDA - On the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences Admission Requirements page, the admission requirements for the BSc in Agricultural/Food Business Management, BSc in Fashion Business Management, and BSc in Forest Business Management were updated to reflect the current direct entry requirements (as approved on Feb. 13, 2020). The original requirements can be reviewed on an archived PDF copy of that page .

Dr. Kristi Baker was incorrectly listed on the Professor Emeriti page. This listing has been removed. The correct listing for Dr. Baker can be found on the Continuing Academic Staff page.
ADDENDA - The CAE and CPE English language tests have changed their names to C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency, respectively. See Admission to Undergraduate Programs .

On the Major in Linguistics [Arts] page, an editorial change was made to remove the following general statement, as it conflicted with the actual course requirements as listed:
Students wishing to major in Linguistics must complete ★9 at the 400- or 500-level to fulfil the Faculty and departmental requirements.
There was no change to the approved program/course requirements.

ERRATA. For the Juris Doctor General Admission Requirements (Faculty of Law ), the last acceptable LSAT writing date for September admission was corrected from “December of the previous year” to “January of the year in which admission is sought”. This now matches similar LSAT information in the Application Documentation section of this page.

On the Faculty of Nursing Admission Requirements page, the information regarding the Situational Judgement Test Requirement was added to the Aboriginal Applicants section for clarity. The same information had previously been published as requirement for all applicants.

For the Minor in Religious Studies [Arts] , the minimum number of credits was originally listed as ★12. This was corrected to ★15 in order to match the total number of units in the minimum course registration.
July 8, 2020
On the Academic Schedule, Dates, and Deadlines page, the entry for Aug. 24, 2020 contained an incorrect cohort for students in the Medical Laboratory Science program. The original text read listed phase I Medical Laboratory Science students. This was corrected and now indicates Year 2 Medical Laboratory Science students.
Also on Academic Schedule, Dates, and Deadlines page, the dates for Summer Term 2020 auditor registrations was corrected. The original dates listed were July 6-9, 2020. This was corrected and are now listed as July 6-10, 2020.
May 7, 2020
ADDENDA. Multiple changes were approved to programs within the Faculty of Education (GFC Course and Minor Program Changes April 1, 2020). Addenda notation was added to each section that was revised.
May 6, 2020
ADDENDA. New regulations for part-time status were approved (ASC April 16, 2020) for the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.

The text that was removed is as follows:
Full-time Registration Requirement
Students who are admitted to any thesis-based program and who initially register as full-time students in these programs must register full-time for the remainder of their program. This requirement is in effect for students who began September 2003 and thereafter.
Departments need to notify FGSR when they admit thesis-based students on a part-time basis.

Several revisions were made to correct and clarify Math majors and minors within the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program:
- The Major in Mathematics, which had been omitted at the time of publication, was replaced. This page was reformatted from the 2019-2020 Calendar version for increased clarity.
- The Minor in Mathematics and the Minor in Statistics pages were reformatted to differentiate between Faculty of Arts requirements and Faculty of Science requirements for this minor. The specific requirements did not change from the 2019-2020 Calendar version of these pages.

A change was made to the course listings on the Materials [Engineering] page, in the Year 3 Term 6 section. CH E 314 was incorrectly listed. It has now been replaced with Complementary Studies Elective.
April 20, 2020
ADDENDA: For applications starting in Fall 2020, six programs in the Faculty of Science received approval (ASC Mar 19, 2020) to become direct entry programs from high school: Honors and Specialization in Environmental Earth Sciences, Honors and Specialization in Geology, and Honors and Specialization in Paleontology. Please see Admissions Chart 7 for more information regarding the new minimum admission averages.

On the BSc in Medical Laboratory Science Post-Professional Certification degree completion page, three corrections were made:
- the total number of credits required was corrected from ★72 to ★72.5
- the number of credits that must be completed through the University of Alberta was corrected from ★60 to ★60.5
- In Year 1 of the program, the number of credits of Approved MLS options was corrected from ★3 to ★6

The note on the Faculty of Engineering’s Complementary Studies Electives page originally indicated that courses that taught a language were not eligible as complementary studies courses. This is incorrect and has been removed.

The requirements list for Minor in Economics [Arts] was corrected to include ECON 281 instead of STAT 151.
In the Academic Schedule, Dates, and Deadlines , the dates for Alumni Weekend were originally listed as Sept. 18-20. The correct dates are Sept. 24-27.

On the Spring/Summer 2020 Terms dates and deadlines page, the 50% Refund date for First half 3-week classes in Spring Term 2020 was originally stated as May 10, 2020. This has been corrected to May 11, 2020.
