The Graduate Embedded Certificate in Community-Based Research and Evaluation [Graduate]


Entrance Requirements


This is an embedded certificate. All applicants must be currently registered in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research in either a master’s or doctoral degree program.

Students may apply at any time after admission to a graduate program, but are advised to apply early to accommodate course selection. Application information may be obtained from Community Engagement Studies, Faculty of Extension, or the CBRE website.

Program Requirements


Students must complete the following:

  • INT D 500  (★3)
  • EXT 541  (★3)
  • Three ★3 graduate-level courses
    • One ★3 course must be in program planning and evaluation
    • Two ★3 courses must be in research methods (quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods)
    • Courses must be selected from a list of approved options or approved by the CBRE Academic Advisor.

Length of Program


All embedded certificate requirements must be completed during the student’s graduate degree program.
