The School of Public Health

The School of Public Health is the newest Faculty of the University of Alberta, approved by the Board of Governors in March 2006. It is Canada’s first School of Public Health accredited by the U.S. Council on Education for Public Health, and is focused on promoting wellness, reducing risks, and preventing illness and injury to improve the overall health of citizens.

Through its graduate programs, research activities, and community engagement activities, the School fosters interdisciplinary learning, discovery, and citizenship in public health. Currently, more than 200 students are being trained for public health leadership through the graduate programs of the School of Public Health.
