ENGG 404 - Engineering Safety and Loss Management

★ 3.8 (fi 8) (first term, 3-3s/2-0) A broad study of the principles and practices of providing a safe and reliable working environment in all types of major industries. Government regulatory requirements are reviewed. The key topics of study, using leading industry practices, are industrial health, safety, and environmental risks. The course emphasizes the importance of the decisions of engineers and business managers in protecting workers, the environment, assets, production, and the public in general. Case studies, and guest lecturers from industry and government are included. Prerequisite: Completion of at least three years of study in Engineering or Business or by consent of the Instructor.
