ECE 434 - Power System Protection

★ 3 (fi 8) (either term, 3-0-0) Short-circuit and other faults in power systems. Analysis of faulted power systems, symmetrical components theory, components of power system protection, various protection schemes and relays. Power system grounding, concepts of transient overvoltage and ground potential rise. Prerequisite: ECE 330 or E E 330. Credit may be obtained in only one of ECE 434 or E E 434.
