General Sciences

Students in the General Sciences major will complete 18 units in Science Foundations and 24 units in a subject specialization in Biology, Chemistry, General Sciences, or Mathematics:

Science Foundations (18 units)

AUBIO 111 - Functional Biology
AUCHE 110 - General Chemistry I
AUMAT 116 - Calculus Concepts and Modelling
6 units from AUSCI foundations laboratory courses (may be specified as overlapping credits in stream requirements)

3 units from:

Subject Specialization (24 units)

Note:

Students must take EDSE 355 during the IPT, which is normally offered in both the Fall and Winter Terms. Students must take EDSE 451 and EDSE 455 during the APT, which are normally offered in both the Fall and Winter Terms.

Suspended Majors

Effective July 2021, there will be no further admission to the following majors:

Mathematics and Physics

Effective November 2021, there will be no further admission to the following majors:

Mathematical Sciences
Physical Sciences

Students who entered these prior to July 2021 must complete all program requirements by April 30, 2026. The last degree with these specific majors will be granted at Spring Convocation 2026. Continuing students must refer to the Calendar under which they were admitted for program requirements.
