This course examines the foundational principles and methodologies that underlie scientific inquiry. It is a doctoral seminar that provides the necessary background in the philosophy of science to prepare students to conduct high quality research. Students will be exposed to philosophical debates on the nature of scientific theories, the structure of scientific revolutions, and the essential differences between scientific knowledge and other ways of knowing. The course will also address the ethical implications of scientific research in business, encouraging students to consider the societal impacts of their work.
