General Information


The College of Natural and Applied Sciences offers interdisciplinary graduate programs in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, combining the foundations of data science and artificial intelligence concepts, effective communication of analytic findings in real world settings, essential programming languages, data visualization, statistical software tools, and societal implications and ethical use of AI.

Entrance Requirements


Applicants have the opportunity to apply directly to the Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Admission requirements into the program are non-restrictive to encourage interdisciplinary cohorts. Students are required to have the minimum Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) entry requirements, including:

  • Four-year baccalaureate degree (or its academic equivalent) from an academic institution recognized by the University of Alberta
  • There is no admission GPA requirement
  • English Language Proficiency
