Master of Science with Specialization in Translational Medicine (Medicine)

Program Core Competencies

The following are the program-specific requirements to satisfy the FoMD’s Program Core Competencies (See Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Program Core Competencies ).

Students must complete at least 3 of the 4 approved courses to satisfy the critical reading/thinking and background knowledge core competencies. The following is the list of approved courses:

1. Professional Development and Ethics

2. Communication

Students are required to attend Medicine Grand Rounds when possible and participate in Me2 Majumdar Research and Quality Improvement Collaborative Day on an annual basis.

3. Critical Reading/Thinking

The supervisory committee will determine the relevant courses to be taken in consultation with the student. Final approval of the program will be made by the Director of Graduate Studies.

4. Background Knowledge

Thesis

Registration in 900-level THES. Students are required to prepare and defend a thesis on a topic approved by their supervisor and supervisory committee.
