Master of Agriculture (Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology)

Program Requirements

Students are required to complete a minimum of 27 units in coursework including a 3-unit project course.

Coursework

Eight 3-unit graduate-level courses approved by the department
At least two courses must be at the 500-level

Project course

Professional Development and Ethics Requirements

Students are expected to participate in department and University professional development and ethics activities to comply with the University requirement of 8 hours of professional development and 8 hours of ethics activities. Students are also expected to participate in the department seminar series.

Language Requirement

No language other than English is required for the degree.

Residence Requirement

Candidates must spend a minimum of one single term (four months) in full-time attendance at the University of Alberta to meet the residence requirement.

Length of Program

A candidate with adequate undergraduate prerequisites and appropriate professional experience should complete the program in one academic year (12 months).

The maximum time to complete the course-based MAg program as set by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research is six years.
