General Information
The Certificate in the Economics and Management of Natural Resources, Energy and the Environment is integrated with Alberta’s energy and resource-based economy, incorporating practical learning and interaction with business leaders. Students develop business and analytical skills that are applicable to the natural resources and energy markets, and acquire a broad understanding of the resource and energy industries. At the same time, the links between resource and energy questions and environmental issues are examined.

- Who is eligible: BA Majors and Honors in Economics Students
- Offered by: Department of Economics in collaboration with the Faculty of Business
Admission to the Certificate is by application to the Department of Economics only. There are a limited number of spaces available. Normally a student must have completed 60 units prior to admission which must include ECON 281 , ECON 282 and ECON 299 , and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. This Certificate will be awarded only at the same time as a student receives a BA with a major or honors in Economics.
To be awarded the certificate students must apply though Bear Tracks by the application deadline for graduation (see Academic Schedule ).

- Students admitted to this Certificate program will not be granted credit for both ECON 269 and BUEC 464 .
