Specialization in Cell Biology [Science]

Continuation in the Specialization in Cell Biology program requires successful completion of at least 24 units with a minimum 2.3 GPA in each preceding Fall/Winter.

Year 1 and Year 2

Year 3 and Year 4

Options

  • 3 units from 400-level CELL course
  • 15 units from Group A option (CELL 398  recommended)
  • 9 units in Science options
  • 12 units in Open options
  • 9 units in Arts options

Cell Biology Group A Options:

  • Any 400-level ANAT course.
  • Any BIOCH course.
  • Any CELL course.
  • Any GENET course.
  • Any IMIN course. 
  • Any MICRB course. 
  • Any 300- and 400-level MMI course.
  • Any NEURO course.
  • Any ONCOL course.
  • Any PHYSL course. 
  • Any PMCOL course.

Notes

  1. Science option: any course offered by the Faculty of Science (can also be selected from the Group A list)
  2. Open option: any University of Alberta course (can also be selected from Group A list or Science)
  3. 9 units minimum at the 400-level.
  4. Students are encouraged to consult the Department of Cell Biology for selection and approval of all options.
