General Information
The MSc in Computing Science with a specialization in Multimedia program offers a theoretical and practical understanding of multimedia processing, encoding, communications, rendering and visualization, as well as multimedia synchronization, retargeting and data quality assessment. The degree is designed for individuals seeking to develop their knowledge of multimedia and the skills to participate in further studies with industries operating in this area. Program work consists of core courses plus an internship or coop placement covering various aspects of multimedia.
Program Requirements
This is a course-based program consisting of coursework and an internship.
Students are required to complete ★36 in graduate-level coursework, including:
- Six ★3 Multimedia (MM) courses
- MM 807 (★9)- Multimedia Project I AND
MM 808 (★9)- Multimedia Project II.
Courses are scheduled regularly, and may be conducted in an intensive evening / weekend format. Elective reading courses are scheduled according to instructor availability.
Academic Standing Requirement
To remain in the program, students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 with no grade less than B-.
Length of Program
There is no full time residency requirement. Students are expected to complete this program in two years.
The maximum time to complete the course-based MSc program as set by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research is six years.
