Piano Proficiency Examination:
Students entering the BMus/BEd Combined Degrees (Elementary) program who are not electing a keyboard instrument as a first practical subject will be required to demonstrate proficiency at the level of Grade 6 Royal Conservatory of Music. The requirement may be waived upon presentation of a Grade 6 Royal Conservatory of Music certificate, or equivalent, earned within three years prior to entering the program. Failure to fulfill the requirement may result in substantial delays in the student’s progress and will ultimately prevent completion of the program. Students are urged to develop a plan for fulfilling this requirement, in consultation with the appropriate advisor, during the first term of study.
Each combined degree programs consists of ★162 overall. The first three years (★99) are taken in the Faculty of Arts and the last two years (★63) are taken in the Faculty of Education (see BMus/BEd [Education] and BMus/BEd (Secondary) [Arts] ).
