MLSCI 242 - Pathogenic Microbiology I

★ 4.5 (fi 9) (variable, 3-0-5) As an introduction to clinical bacteriology, this course considers the most common and notorious pathogenic bacteria and the fundamentals of the human immune response that are critical to our health. The lecture portion of the course will focus on microbial pathogenic mechanisms and ways these pathogens get established and avoid destruction by the immune response. The laboratory portion of the course will focus on diagnostic procedures, such as isolation and characterization of these pathogenic microorganisms. Restricted to Medical Laboratory Science students. May not be taken for credit if credit already received in MLSCI 240.
