Amendments to the Calendar

This page is a record of the changes made to this Calendar after it was originally published.

There are three types of changes noted on this page:

  • Items marked as ADDENDA were approved after the Calendar was published. Addenda listings will include the date the change was approved. This is the date the new regulation took effect, regardless of when it was added to the Calendar.
  • Items marked as ERRATA include corrections to errors or omissions.  The change was approved prior to the original publication of the Calendar.
  • Items marked as EDITORIAL include changes made for clarity.

March 13, 2026

ADDENDA. Effective January 21, 2026, the TOEFL language test adopted a new scoring system. The following pages have been updated to include the new scores, as approved on February 5, 2026:

March 11, 2026

ADDENDA. Graduate admission dates and deadlines have been relocated from the Calendar to the Graduate program application deadlines webpage, as approved on January 27, 2025. The following pages were updated to remove admissions deadlines:

March 4, 2026

ADDENDA. The Academic Schedule  has been updated to reflect a change of 2026 Spring Convocation and 2026 student orientation dates as follows:

  • Week one of Convocation will take place June 9-12 instead of June 8-12
  • Week two of Convocation will take place June 15-17 instead of June 15-18
  • New undergraduate student orientation will take place August 30-31 instead of August 29-31

February 25, 2026

ADDENDA. A new Master of Sustainability program was approved on November 18, 2025 and the following pages have been added or updated in the Calendar:

ADDENDA. A new Master of Nurse Practitioner Practice (MNPP) program was approved on August 26, 2025 and the following pages have been added or updated in the Calendar:

November 17, 2025

October 27, 2025

October 24, 2025

ADDENDUM. The Academic Schedule  has been updated to include a deadline of June 15, 2026 for undergraduate students to apply for Fall 2026 Convocation. This deadline was moved forward from September 1, 2026, as approved on October 14, 2025.

September 25, 2025

ADDENDA. On June 11, 2025, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP Act) was repealed and replaced by two new Acts, the Access to Information Act (ATIA) and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). The following pages have been updated to reflect the change, as applicable:

September 22, 2025

ADDENDA. The Academic Regulations  and Regulations of the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies  pages have been updated to replace the former Discrimination, Harassment and Duty to Accommodate Policy with the new Discrimination and Harassment Policy and Accommodation Policy, as approved on June 20, 2025.

September 15, 2025

ADDENDUM. The admission requirements for Program B of the BSc (Dental Hygiene) Post Diploma Degree Completion Program  have been updated to include requirement 4 regarding a letter of good standing, as approved on September 11, 2025.

September 9, 2025

ERRATUM. The SU Health and Dental Plan Change of Coverage Deadline in the Academic Schedule  has been corrected from September 16, 2025 to September 26, 2025.

September 3, 2025

ERRATUM. The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Co-op - Nanoengineering Option  program had the “Group I Program and Technical Elective” requirement erroneously removed from Year 2 - Fall Term 3. This requirement has been reincluded.

EDITORIAL. The Office of the Dean of Students has been renamed to Student Success and Experience, effective June 2025. The following pages have been updated to reflect the new name:

ADDENDA. A new Master of Real Estate Development  program has been approved on June 25, 2025. Entrance Requirements  for the new program have also been added.

June 12, 2025

ADDENDA. Program Requirements and Academic Standing, Reexamination, and Reassessment regulations have been added for the new Bachelor of Biomedicine Dual Degree program on the following pages. The new program was approved on January 29, 2024 for an effective start date of July 1, 2023.

ADDENDUM. The Graduate Embedded Certificate in Community-Based Research and Evaluation  course INT D 500 has been replaced by MACE 501, as approved on June 2, 2025.

ADDENDUM. The course load of the Master of Science in Health Promotion and Socio-behavioural Sciences (thesis-based)  program has been reduced from 12 units to 9 units with the elimination of SPH 503, as approved on May 21, 2025.

ERRATUM. Admission requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology/Bachelor of Education (Secondary) Combined Degrees program were erroneously included in the Faculty of Education Admission Requirements  and have now been removed. Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology/Bachelor of Education (Secondary) Combined Degrees program was suspended in 2017.
