BCom Honors Program

Return to Faculty of Business - Programs Return to: Faculty of Business - Programs

General

The Bachelor of Commerce Honors Program provides specialization in the chosen subject, with study in greater depth than is provided in the BCom program, and demands a higher standard of performance. It provides a challenging curriculum for students interested in pursuing research-oriented graduate business studies or interested in working in positions requiring more rigorous preparation in higher level business skills. Honors programs are available in several areas (see BCom Honors Accounting , BCom Honors Finance BCom Honors in Management Science  and BCom Honors in Operations Management ).

Admission Requirements

See BCom Honors Program .

Residence Requirements

The Honors program generally has the same residency requirements as the BCom program (see Course Load Requirements ).

Course Load Requirements

The BCom (Honors) program will usually be completed in four consecutive years of study during the Fall/Winter Terms. Students in an Honors program are normally required to complete a minimum of ★30 each Fall/Winter. However, with the prior approval of the Undergraduate Office, a reduced course load may be permitted in extenuating circumstances. Students interested in pursuing a Co-operative Education option must contact the Undergraduate Office and the Department for permission before entering the Co-operative Education program.

Promotion and Graduation

Promotion from year to year and graduation with the Honors designation require a GPA of at least 3.5.
